Analysing the effects of temperature on foam generation

The foamability of a solution is effected by its temperature. Thus, the characterisation of the foaming power and the foaming behaviour during generation is of great importance for testing products or solutions under genuine application conditions.

An external thermostat is used for controlled sample tempering of the test system (measuring and storage vessel). This way the sample temperature is controlled by the SITA FoamTester. The system allows testing of samples at temperatures up to 60°C. A comparison of the foaming behaviour at different temperatures for a foaming agent used in oil extraction is shown in following figure.
